Collections

I have three collections. One is children's books, including textbooks about children's literature and illustrations. This collection occupies twelve shelves in a double 7 foot tall bookcase. I've been collecting them for a long, long time.

My second collection is related to the first. I have a collection of statues and pictures of animals reading books. This is a deliberate collection. I look for these wherever I go and in catalogues. I don't have a huge selection, but I really like what I have.

And the last is a collection that just sort of happened. The Dragon Collection!

Pictured here are the Christmas additions. Three glass ornaments. No, I don't use them on my Christmas tree. They sit on my dragon shelves.

The red dragon is made out of cornhusks.

And the box is a gift from my son and daughter-in-law.

I love my dragons. Many were made by readers and were given to me either at booksignings or as surprises in the mail.

You probably already have this, but if you don't, I must make a suggestion for your children's book collection. "The Dragons are Singing Tonight" by Jack Prelutsky, illustrated by Peter Sis. This is my all-time favorite children's book, next to "The Lorax." I mean, poetry about dragons--you can't get better than that!! I just had to order a new copy for us because ours wore out.

Hey, thanks for your comment! It's not every day that you have a famous author comment on your blog. And thanks for writing the books, too! I loved reading the whole series. Blessin's!

Donita, thank you so much for writing a book that combines dragon fantasy with the Christian beliefs. What a great way to be a ministry! You sparked my imagination to write a book of my own. I'm so glad that you love Jesus with me!

I love your dragon collection; they glisten in the picture! :D So pretty. I started collecting porcelain fairies with feathery wings last summer; I've only got one, but it's a start! :D

I really enjoyed your DragonKeeper series; it was really interesting to see how you encorporated* the message of Christianity into it, great to read! (*laughs* I sound like a book review)

Blessings,
Hannah
