Day Two of the Tagalong Blog

I was privileged to be offered the chance to endorse both of Andrew Peterson's books. The first one is On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness. The title offers so much, doesn't it? Dark Sea of Darkness. Ooo, that sounds dangerous and a bit over the top. I'm expecting menace done with finesse and the finesse includes silliness. The "on the edge" phrase reminds me of being on the edge of my seat at an exciting movie. If Andrew's book had not lived up to the anticipation created by the title, we would have fed him to the toothy cows. Fortunately, he pulled it off. My copy of his book is actually a bit tattered because it has been read by many.
Here is my endorsement for the first book:

“Totally fun! Andrew Peterson, a natural storyteller in the oral tradition, has nailed the voice needed to translate a rip-roaring fantasy tale to the written page.”
–Donita K. Paul, author of DragonSpell, DragonKnight, DragonQuest, and DragonFire

I too have read this story, just last month actually. It is a crazy very silly little story. I could see having fun reading it to elementary aged children. They would really get into it I'm sure.

Trying not to spoil it, but I can't wait to see what he does with the next book, as he leaves the characters with so many more questions than are answered.
